Dr. Amelia Jacobs has been creating beautiful smiles for over 25 years! Dr. Jacobs received her D.M.D. degree from the University of Louisville. She continued her education in the University of Louisville Postgraduate Program, receiving her Orthodontic Certification and License to practice orthodontics. Dr. Jacobs taught orthodontics in the Postgraduate Orthodontic and Pediatric Dentistry Programs as well the D.M.D. program.
She is a member of several professional organizations at the local, state and national level, including the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Kentucky Association of Orthodontists and the Kentucky Dental Association. She is past president of the Kentucky Association of Women Dentists and her local orthodontic study club. She gives back to the community by volunteering her time with the Smile Kentucky program.
Dr. Jacobs is married and has two children. Her son teaches college band/music and is pursuing a PhD in music. Her daughter is a minister of music pursuing a PhD in chemistry. Dr. Jacobs’ husband teaches Fixed Prosthodontics at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. In her leisure time, Dr. Jacobs enjoys horseback riding, ballroom and swing dancing, aerobic exercise, church and spending time with her family.
